It enjoys very good communications through the A-357 highway and the commuter train that link the Costa del Sol to the Guadalhorce-Guadalteba Reservoir Natural Area.

The railway line that arrives from Seville, Córdoba, and Madrid stops at Álora, Pizarra and Cártama enbroute to Malaga. It is one of the busiest lines in Spain through which dozens of daily trains pass, including the AVE high-speed train.

The A-357 motorway from Campillos to Malaga, also known as the Guadalhorce motorway, connects, at the inter-county level, the population centres that settle along the valley.

The regional highway A-366, also known as Carretera de Coín, crosses from Churriana to Coín, becoming a crossing when crossing Alhaurín de la Torre and Alhaurín el Grande.
