Understand

[edit]

Ghat (2,530m/8,350ft) is a small beautiful village in-between the Lukla - Phakding trail of the Everest Region. It is 6km away from Lukla and takes 2-3 hours to cover the distance. The trail from Lukla to Ghat traces alongside Dudh Koshi valley offering the introductory view of Mt Khumbila (5,761m/18901ft) and panoramic scenery. Ghat is a typical Buddhist village with an old monastery, Painted Mani walls, Mani boulders, and ever-smiling monks. The village is also one of the preferred destination by the trekkers for the first-day rest.
