Parque das Nações is a district in Lisbon, Portugal. The "Park of the Nations" was built from scratch for Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition) in the northeastern end of Lisbon. After the Expo, many of the impressive constructions and decorations were kept, while new residential, commercial, and office buildings were added to form a thriving, mixed-use district consisting exclusively of modern architecture and making the most of its river-facing location by offering a number of leisure facilities.

Get in

Although Parque das Nações is quite far away from downtown Lisbon, it is reasonably easy to get there by metro line  Vermelha  (red line), train, or bus to Orient station.

• 1 Gare do Oriente (Lisbon Oriente Station). This spectacular intermodal station was designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava for Expo '98. It provides rail, metro, local bus, and long-distance coach service. • 5 Ponte Vasco da Gama (Vasco da Gama Bridge). It is the longest bridge in Europe (including viaducts), and ninth longest in the world, with a total length of 17.2 km (10.7 mi), including 0.829 km (0.515 mi) for the main bridge, 11.5 km (7.1 mi) in viaducts, and 4.8 km (3.0 mi) in dedicated access roads.
