Pirongia is a little village about 30 minutes drive south of Hamilton, in southern Waikato, in the North Island of New Zealand. It is located at the base of Mount Pirongia. There is a little info centre in town that will give you hiking info and where to go.

[edit]Pirongia is about 30 km south of Hamilton and 12 km west of Te Awamutu, off State Highway 3 as it runs south from Hamilton to Otorohanga. For a more direct trip, get off the highways and take the country roads through Temple View and see the Mormon Temple in this area.
