Bijelo Polje (Serbian/Montenegrin: Бијело Поље) is a town of 13,000 people (2011) in the north of Montenegro. It is the administrative, economic, cultural and educational centre of northern Montenegro.

The city, which was already important for transit traffic in Ottoman times and is surrounded by green hills, lies on the left bank of the Lim. It experienced an economic boom after the Second World War.

By buses or by train, from Podgorica, or other towns.

By plane

The nearest international airport (130 km away) is in the state capital, Podgorica ( TGD IATA). There is a small regional airport in Berane, about 30 km away.

By train

Bijelo Polje railway station: The Belgrade-Bar railway runs through Bijelo Pole and has its last station in Montenegro before the Serbian border.

By car

The European route 763 (M-2) coming from Belgrade in Serbia passes through Bijelo Polje, which 5 km south meets the European route 65, which in turn continues via Kolašin and Podgorica to the Adriatic coast in Petrovac, where it merges with the Jadranska magistrala.

Etno Selo Vuković

The completely small and completely charming square in the center of the town is a good place to take a walk. Also, when in Bijelo Polje, a must-visit is the spring of mineral water. It is said that people who drink that water live no less than 95 years.
