Snogebæk is in Bornholm.

Understand

[edit]

Snogebæk is a fishing town in the south of Bornholm, whose greatest importance today is tourism, although fishing is still an industry. Around Snogebæk, from Balka in the north to Dueodde in the south, there are large holiday home areas, but due to the conscious avoidance of fencing off individual properties or areas, the houses often appear scattered in the nature rather than dominating it too much.

Not far from the harbour is the popular Sørens Værtshus (colloquially known as Sørens), both among locals and tourists. It's an attraction not only for its popular pizza, but also for live music in the summer months and to compete to see who can drive the nail into the tree trunk faster. Bars are allowed to be open until 02:00.

Snogebæk is known throughout the island for its nightlife, which is also popular with tourists; in some cases it is even described as the only place with nightlife in Bornholm due to its long opening hours.

Apart from the local gastronomy and possible privately organized beach parties, there are no institutions for nightlife in Snogebæk beyond beach walks and stargazing.

If you are looking for a larger selection of pubs or similar, you have to go to Rønne, but you may also find what you are looking for in Nexø or Gudhjem.

Sleep

[edit]

In Snogebæk you will find accommodation almost exclusively in the form of holiday homes, which stretch almost like a holiday home belt from Balka via Snogebæk to Dueodde. There is also a guesthouse that is suitable for cyclists and for people who only need somewhere to stay overnight for a few nights.

There are campsites in Balka and a total of three on the beach in Dueodde, where there is also a beach hotel and a youth hostel.
