Europe > France > Occitanie > Aude > Limoux

Limoux is in Aude in the south of France. The town has been known since the 16th century for the production of a renowned sparkling wine, blanquette de Limoux. This sparkling wine from Languedoc, which plays a major part in the city's economy, benefits from a protected designation of origin (PDO) classification. The city is also the site of a carnival which lasts several months.
