Pangboche (3930 to 4030 m above sea level) is a village in Khumbu.

Get in

[edit]

It takes around two hours from Tengboche to arrive in Pangboche. The best way to get here is either to trek from 5 days from Lukla or to get a helicopter flight from Kathmandu. Since this is the best landing spot for Everest Base Camp helicopters now, Pangboche is getting popular now.

See

[edit]

Upper Pangboche (to the left as you enter the village when coming from Tengboche) is a pleasant place to rest and relax. Visit the monastery at the centre of the cluster of houses. About half an hour walk from the monastery are some hermits' caves. Obviously, do not disturb anyone who might be in retreat.
