Ambajogai is a city in Beed district of Marathwada region in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Ambajogai is known as cultural capital of Marathwada.

[edit]The town is named as Ambajogai after goddess Ambabai (Yogeshwari) whose heritage temple is located here. It is are visited by people all over from Maharashtra, largely from the Konkan region.
The town has other heritage temples like Sakleshwar and 12 Khambhi temple, Kholeshwar mandir, Mukundraj cave and Dasopant Swami Samadhi, Mukundraj samadhi, Kashivishwanath, Amruteshwar.

[edit]- 1 Shivleni Caves (Shiva leni; Jogai Mandap; Hattikhana) (500 m north-west of Yogeshvari Temple, along the banks of the Jayvanti river). Rock-cut cave monuments which date back to the era of King Udayaditya (reigned c. 1060–1087). Total excavations were hewn out of rock, cut and carved deep inside the hill. The caves include sculptures of Hindu deities like Shiva, Saptamatrukas and Ganesha.
