Armamar is a community of 6,300 people (2011) in Alto Douro wine region of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, northern Portugal. Armamar's economy thrives on the production of mountain apples, Douro and Porto wines , cheeses, smoked meats and sausages. The apple is the product of greatest economic importance and that is why Armamar is known as "Capital of the Mountain Apple".

Igreja matriz de Armamar
  • 1 Igreja Matriz de Armamar (Igreja de São Miguel). Its construction possibly dates back to the 12th century. It is the only national monument in the municipality of Armamar. Built in a combination of Romanesque and Gothic styles, it has a rectangular floor plan, with three naves and a bell tower with a square floor plan. Both the facade and the interior are built in granite stonework. At the rear is the chancel with a quarter-sphere cover.
