Beaver is in the Red Carpet Country region of Oklahoma. Once capital of the short-lived Cimarron Territory in the late 19th century, which the federal government never recognized, Beaver still retains significance as a center of commerce for all of the agriculture in this area. Additionally, it is famed for its annual World Cow Chip Throwing Championship.

  • 2 Beaver Dunes Park, US-270. Daily 8AM-10PM. Dunes and a lake comprise this area set aside for recreation, formerly a state park until it was relinquished to the city of Beaver due to budget cuts.
