Bicske is a town of 12,000 people (2017), and a district in Fejér County.

The first Hungarian mention of Bicske was in 1306. Bicske benefited from the proximity of the capital, the coal mines and the good transport connections.

The nearest international airport is in Budapest.

By train

Bicske is on the Budapest – Hegyeshalom – Rajka railway line, so its railway station has a lot of railway traffic. It connects suburban trains with Budapest, Tatabánya, Komárom and Győr. There are fast trains from Budapest, Győr, Hegyeshalom, Sopron, Szombathely and Bratislava.

By car

Bicske is on the M1 motorway and the main road between Budapest and Vienna, and runs alongside Zsámbék.

By bus

Bicske is the dominant center of bus transport in the narrower area: Budapest, Mór, Székesfehérvár, Zsámbék and the surrounding settlements. Páty and Felcsút can be reached by regular bus services from the city.

Batthyány Mansion
  • 1 Bicske Castle (Batthyány Mansion, Batthyány-kastély). The castle was built between 1754 and 1755. Archbishop József Batthyány enlarged it in the 1770s and then the chapel was also built .   • In the centre of the town are excavated ruins of a temple with several tombs, dating from the 15th century
