Camocim Lighthouse

Camocim is a beach town in western Ceará. Parts of its more glorious past as an agriculture export port can be felt if walking in the area near the former train station. This era came to a halt when the river changed its course, and ships could no longer pass its mouth. Today its a genuine Cearense fishing town.

Get in

[edit]

Most people arrive from Jericoacoara (4x4 truck once a day R$ 25) or Parnaíba (a couple of daily buses by Guanabara R$ 13, several minibuses) in neighbouring state of Piauí. It is also the most accessible beach for the population of Sobral (Several buses daily, -some continue to Fortaleza).
