Old Daet Cathedral

Daet is the provincial capital of Camarines Norte. It is a large town, with a beach popular with surfers.

  • 1 Daet Central Terminal. Daet's transportation hub, with two terminals, one for jeepneys, UV Express and multicabs, at a pentagon-shaped structure with small shops, and the other for buses, at a rectangle-shaped shed with ticketing offices for Philtranco and DLTB.
  • 2 DLTBCo., Maharlika Highway, Camambugan (In front of the Superlines terminal). Open 24 hours.
  • 3 Philtranco, Martinez Street, Poblacion (near Mabini Colleges, turn left at the second side street on the road to the town of Mercedes). Operates limited-stop services from Manila to Daet. All buses with A/C.
  • 4 Superlines/Daet Auto Express, terminal: Maharlika Highway, Camambugan. Open 24 hours. Runs Manila to Daet with one bus every hour, with layover at Lucena. Buses either luxury A/C (Daet Auto Express only), A/C or ordinary.

By car

Daet is a 6- to 7-hour drive from Manila, along the Maharlika Highway (Route 1/AH26)

By UV Express

UV Express depart from the Westbound Van Terminal in Naga to Daet Central Terminal between 5AM and 5PM daily. The trip takes two hours, and costs ₱120.

By plane

Old Daet Cathedral
  • 1 Old Daet Cathedral (John the Baptist Church, also known as the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista i). Masses M-F 6AM, noon, 5:15PM; Sa 6AM, 5:15PM; Su 5AM, 6:30AM, 8AM, 9:30AM, 3PM (Children's Mass), 4:30PM, 6PM, 7:15PM. Rizal monument
  • 2 First monument for José Rizal. The Rizal Monument in Daet was the first monument built to honor José Rizal, and is the oldest surviving such monument in the Philippines. It was designed by Lt. Colonel Antonio Sanz with the help of Ildefonso Alegre of the Philippine Revolutionary Army and through the financial contributions of the locals of Camarines Norte. The three-tiered stone pylon with its square base supporting a triangle in two stages was the first monument and memorial marker in memory of the Philippines' National Hero.
