The dive site Paindane Express is an offshore rocky reef with coral in the Paindane area, near Inhambane in Southern Mozambique

Name

The name "Paindane Express" refers to the locality Paindane and the current past the reef.

Depth

Maximum depth is about 28m.

Visibility

Visibility of more than 10m can be expected.

Topography

Tabular stone reef with wall to seaward. Current quite strong setting south along wall. Lots of rocky outcrops.

Follow the divemaster, stay in the group unless planned otherwise. You should be briefed on what you may hold onto. Dives are usually drift dives along the wall and boulders at the offshore side of the reef.

Strong current possible,it may be difficult to stay with the group. If a negative entry is done be sure to check your cylinder valve is open.

Skills

Good buoyancy control, reasonable fitness and the ability to stay with the group are recommended. Ability to deploy a DSMB is recommended in case you get separated from the dive leader.

Equipment

A DSMB and reel are recommended in case you are separated from the group and have to surface alone. This will allow the boat to keep track of your position and find you when you surface.
