Summary
DescriptionThe Standing Stones on the Ladies Golf Course - geograph.org.uk - 950990.jpg
English: The Standing Stones on the Ladies Golf Course The notes prepared by the Golf Club admit that they know relatively little about the stones. It's possible that these are the remains of a circle, as a 4th stone was present in the late 18th century; however since this was broken at that time, and only the base remained in the ground, the position of that 4th stone is no longer known. Early 18th century reports also make note of several possible cist burials in the area of the stones, but again they're not well documented. Clearly an important Bronze Age site, and hopefully it'll remain preserved on the golf course for many years to come.
