Kudos and editing[edit]

Well done, Mark! There are a few typos and misspellings, but the content is really excellent, and all the icons are where they belong. It's also remarkably readable given the density of information.

Here are the things that I notice, feel free to correct or ignore (or tell me how to correct):

  • It's Cerrillos Road with two "r"s, not Cerillos; also misspelled on the large-area map.
  • Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, not Museaum.
  • The main circular drag is Paseo de Peralta, the map has an extra "a" in there ("Pasaeo").
  • "Oritz" Street right in the middle of the map should be Ortiz, but it's a fairly minor street and the label could be omitted for clarity without harm. There are a few other streets with (correct) labels that are also obscure enough that they really don't need to be shown, but no harm done by having them.
  • If ambitious, you might turn the Plaza green, as it's an open, park-like area; that's the rectangle immediately south of the Palace of the Governors with the Plaza Cafe on its west side and Packard's at its southeast corner. A lot of the festivals, etc., concentrate at the Plaza, so it's probably worth pointing out.

Quibbles aside, great job! I think that Santa Fe is beginning to approach "Star" status, but of course I'm biased... -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 19:42, 24 February 2006 (EST)

Thanks. As for spelling stuff, that's not one of my strong points, however for correcting spelling you can just open the .svg file in a normal text editor and search for the text you want to replace. After that I'll do the plaza and a couple of other downtown parks.
It's getting close, but a lot of the listings are missing data, like the address, so it would be good to fix those up. -- (WT-en) Mark 01:28, 25 February 2006 (EST)

Oops[edit]

Mark, something seems to have misfired when I tried to upload the version with corrected spelling. Could you check it out? Whatever is wrong, it's beyond my limited skill with MediaWiki to fix. Thanks. -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 11:55, 25 February 2006 (EST)

I'll have a look. Did you correct the spelling in the png file or the svg? It's the png that's broken, but uploading the svg with a .png extension would do that of course. -- (WT-en) Mark 11:46, 26 February 2006 (EST)
I think the spelling is corrected in the .svg version that's now on line, but can't tell for sure. Had a curious software problem trying to create the .png from it. Computers ... -- (WT-en) Bill-on-the-Hill 15:23, 26 February 2006 (EST)

New Version of the Map[edit]

I just uploaded a new version of the Downtown Santa Fe map, because the former version was incomplete, had a few errors, and the SVG source file was simply too hopelessly large to edit, so I created a new SVG file and made a new map from scratch. (WT-en) PerryPlanet Talk 23:54, 18 March 2009 (EDT)
