KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) is a town in the Kolar district of Karnataka.

Get in[edit]

There are regular buses from Bangalore (nearest airport) as well as a train link. KGF is connected to Bangalore via Kolar (NH7 runs from Kolar to Bangalore) by a state highway as well making it a possible drive of about three hours.

One can also take buses from Bangarapet (approximately 15km) (which is a major junction on the Bangalore to Chennai train route).

Get around[edit]

The old mining gold mining rigs are worth seeing.

Many old British bungalows.

One very beautiful church dating to British times

Stay safe[edit]

Do not go alone at night to interior areas. B.S.N.L mobile signals are available at most places.
