Lahnstein is a town on the right-hand side of the Middle Rhine Valley where the river Lahn flows into the Rhine.

[edit]The main parts of the town are on the Rhine, Oberlahnstein being south of the river Lahn and Niederlahnstein north of the river. There are also a number of small communities along and above the river Lahn belonging to the town. These include Friedland, Freidrichssegen and Lahnstein auf der Höhe.

[edit]Exit the B42 south of Koblenz.
By cruise boat
[edit]KD (Köln Düsseldorfer Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt AG) boats cruise the Rhine stopping at Oberlahnstein.
By train
[edit]There are two equally important train stations in Lahnstein and one more minor one. SE10: Frankfurt - Koblenz serves both major stations
