Maarat al-Numan (Arabic: مَعَرَّةُ النُّعْمَانِ) is a town of about 100,000 inhabitants in Northwestern Syria.

Driving or taxi is the best option. The city is located along highway M5 between Aleppo and Damascus, expect frequent military checkpoints.
