Minab is a city in the Gulf Region of Iran.

Understand[edit]

Minab is a large city, 25 km from the Gulf of Oman, and not far from Bandar Abbas. Its economy is known for fishing, agriculture and handicrafts. The population is mainly Shi'a but also has a Sunni minority. The livelihood of the populace in Minab is still traditional, fishing ways wearing, colors, women are the most active women in Hormozgan by working and earning money in producing handicrafts.

Get around[edit]

Unlike the bazaars in big cities which tend to have a male-dominated environment, here in Minab, women take the lead. Although dressed up quite conservative to what we are used to and hidden behind colourful masks, they are assertive and showed no intimidation in working alongside men.

There is a bazaar in Minab called Peyshaambe Bazaar, a traditional market held every Thursday.Unlike the bazaars in big cities which tend to have a male-dominated environment, here in Minab, women were taking the lead. Minab is well known for its marine foods - fishes, lobsters, cabs which can be cooked in different ways. Such food is easily found here.

A cool and yummy drink known as "ab limoo va shire khorma" mixes by lemon juice and date palm syrup make u alive!!
