Mundau is a beach village in western Ceará. Still chiefly a traditional fishing village, tourism is slowly eating in. Always a step behind neighbouring Flecheiras, this is the place to go for absolute calm.

[edit]Some 140 km from Fortaleza are covered in about 2 hours by car. A handful of daily buses by Paraipaba will cost you double the time.

[edit]You can rent a buggy and drive along the beaches. To go further west you need to cross the river by a tiny ferry.
