Orhei National Park (Romanian: Parcul Național Orhei) is the only national park in Moldova. It's 34,000 ha constitute about 1% of the area of the country.

It was founded in 2013.

Landscape

The landscape of the park is hilly, partly covered with forest. The territory is crossed by valleys and the Răut River flows through the park.

Flora and fauna

Over 700 plant species have been identified belonging to 334 genera and 80 families from Phylum Pteridophyta (0.2%) and flowering plant (98.0%).

In the park's flora, 52 species of rare plants with different degrees of endangerment are identified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The park is in central Moldova 55 km north of Chișinău.

From Orhei, head south onto R20 and then R6 until you'll reach the park.

The main places of interest of the Orhei National Park are the Trebujeni landscape reserve, the main part of the Curchi tract (Mănăstirea Curchi), the Țigănești landscape reserve, a number of ancient archaeological sites, the city of the Golden Horde Shehr al-Jedid, a Moldovan medieval city with a fortress, 5 monasteries (including Old Orhei, Curchi, Țigănești), and 4 noble estates. A small museum of folk crafts is open in Ivancea.
