Perris is in Riverside County. It is known for Lake Perris, an artificial lake, skydiving, Southern California Railway Museum, and its sunny dry climate.

Perris came into existence with the emergence of the California Southern Railroad, where a depot was established between Barstow and San Diego. It was founded in 1911.

Perris is 71 miles (114 km) east-southeast of Los Angeles and 81 miles (130 km) north of San Diego.

For drivers, Perris is readily connected to the rest of metro LA area by I-215. But there is also the 91/Perris Valley Line of the Metrolink for those utilizing public transportation.

Get around

Riverside Transit Agency offers some routes through the municipality and into adjacent areas. More practically though, a car is probably advisable.

  • Southern California Fair, 18700 Lake Perris Dr. Held annually in October, featuring food, carnival rides, shows, crafts, and agriculture. The fairgrounds are also open year round with various activities.
