By car
[edit]From Varkaus, drive 10 km south along Highway 5, then turn to regional road 464 (a bit before Joroinen centre) and drive 30 km more. From Mikkeli, drive 40 km along Highway 5, turn to Highway 14 and Juva. After 24 km, turn towards Rantasalmi 12 km away. From Savonlinna, drive 21 km along Highway 14, then turn to regional road 464 and drive the remaining 14 km.

[edit]- 1 Korhola Mini Zoo (Korholan Kotieläinpiha), Korholantie 129. Korhola Mini Zoo is one of the oldest mini zoos in Finland. You can encounter, for example, highland cattle, mini-pigs, chickens, peacock, peacock pigeons, sheep, alpacas, goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens, rabbits, horses and ponies. €8.

The speciality of the spa is its appearance: the spa is excavated inside the cliffs. The walls are naturally shaped cliffs, the floors and pools are made of natural stone. Programme services. On the Savonlinna–Varkaus fairway, boats and yachts welcome on day visits to the spa or for overnighting. Standard room €150; spa treatments €60–250; mooring overnight €10–25, electricity and water +€5.
- 2 Linnansaari National Park (see also Savonlinna and Varkaus). Lush islands and rocky islets. Best explored by boat or canoe, but there is a boat service to the main island and taxi boats available. Nature trails, an old croft, Saimaa seals and ospreys. Tour skating in winter.

- 2 Hotel, Ohitustie 5. The Rinssi-Eversti hotel used to be here. Has it changed owners? No mention at the Rinssi-Eversti pages, which now are just for the restaurant, elsewhere.
