Ravalli is a village in Northwestern Montana.

Named for a 19th century missionary, Ravalli's population is under 200 people. At one time, the largest herd of bison in the United States was here.

Get in[edit]

US Highway 93 connects Ravalli with Missoula to the south and Kalispell to the north. Montana highway 200 branches off from US 93 and heads northwest to Thompson Falls.

  • 1 The Bison Inn, 27330 US Hwy 93, +1-406-745-0997. Daily 8AM–3PM. Famous for bison burgers, real huckleberry shakes, and breakfast. Much of the food is organic. Pay cash only, no credit cards.

  • Jocko River Trout Hatchery (10 miles south) is a Fish, Wildlife & Parks facility that produces trout eggs for stocking all over Montana. Visitor hours are daily 8:30AM-4:30PM. Best to call ahead for a tour and learn more about Montana's fish management practices.
