Santos Dumont

Santos Dumont is a city in the Southern Minas Gerais.

Understand

Santos Dumont is the birthplace of aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont and is named in his honour. Prior to the renaming the city was known as Palmira. The Cabangu museum is dedicated to his memory. It is in the house where he was born.

Climate 

• October to April: Warm temperatures and plenty of rain 
• May to September: Cooler temperatures and little rain. This period is drier and coincides with winter.

• 1 Ponte Preta Reservoir (Represa da Ponte Preta) (in the Ponte Preta neighborhood). The Ponte Preta Reservoir is the tourist attraction that receives the most visitors, especially on hot summer days, where people go to swim, go boating, fish, and camp. From September to January, the dam is empty, but leisure activities are still possible on site, such as camping and events such as “Off Road”.
