Sévaré is a city in Mali's Mopti Region.

It is a crossroads town of about 40,000. It lies on the main route through Mali between Gao in the east, and Segou and Bamako in the west. Many travellers pass through Sévaré en route to Mopti and Bandiagara.

Said to have been founded by a Fula hunter, Se Waware, its importance began to grow with the construction of roads and the dike to Mopti under French colonial rule.

Sévaré is about 10 km (6.2 mi) southeast of Mopti and 10 km (6.2 mi) south of Fatoma. From Sévaré you can access Bandiagara to the east, Gao and Timbuktu to the north, Segou and Bamako to the southwest and Burkina Faso to the south.

You can also reach Timbuktu by the river.
