Position in Shanghai

Qingpu (青浦区 Qīngpǔ Qū) is a district of Shanghai, a suburb on the western edge of Shanghai Municipality.

Administratively, Qingpu includes the water town Zhujiajiao, a popular tourist area. We give Zhujiajiao its own article; this article covers the rest of Qingpu.

• 1 Former Residence of Chen Yun (陈云故居, Chen Yun Memorial 陈云纪念馆), 3516 Zhufeng Rd, Liantang Town (练塘镇朱枫公路3516号) (take the Qing Feng Bus (青枫专线), the Qing Xiao Bus (青小线) or the Qing Zheng Bus (青蒸线) from the bus stop on Zhufeng Road, just south of Zhujiajiao Metro Station on Line  17 ), ☏ +86 21 59257178. 09:00-16:00, no entry after 16:30, closed on Mondays. Chen Yun (1905-1995) was an influential Communist Party leader who was known as one of the Eight Elders in the 1980s and 1990s. Free. 
• Dianshan Lake (淀山湖). Dianshan Lake is Shanghai's largest freshwater lake covering 62 square kilometers and serves as the source of the Huangpu River. It offers excellent opportunities for cycling along its 50-kilometer lakeside greenway, water sports like kayaking and sailing, and easy access to ancient water towns including Zhujiajiao and Jinxi, as well as the Shanghai Grand View Garden.

• Qushui Garden (曲水园, Qushui Yuan), 14 Gongyuan Rd. Built in 1745 during the Qing Dynasty in Qingpu District, Qushui Garden gets its name from the ancient Chinese tradition of "drinking wine from a winding stream". Originally a temple garden, it was maintained through community donations - locals each contributed one coin, earning it the nickname "One Coin Garden". The garden is known for its water features (covering 15% of the area), with pavilions, bridges, and corridors built around pools and streams. It offers beautiful seasonal scenery: cherry blossoms in spring, lotus in summer, sweet-scented osmanthus in autumn, and plum blossoms in winter. 
• 2 Grand View Garden (上海大观园), 701 Jinshang Rd (金商公路701号) (take the Qing Shang Bus (青商线) from the Oriental Land Metro Station on Line 12), ☏ +86 21 59262089. 08:15-16:45, no entry after 15:45; the garden closes 30 minutes earlier between the months of November and March. A popular traditional style Chinese garden built in the 1980s. The design of the garden is based on a garden of the same name described in the Dream of the Red Chamber, a famous 18th-century Chinese novel. Feb-Oct: ¥55 (adults), ¥30 (persons over 60); Nov-Jan: ¥40 (adults), ¥25 (persons over 60). Children under 6 years of age or 1.3 meters in height enjoy free entry. 
• Oriental Land, 6888 Huqingping Rd.  
• 3 Zhujiajiao Town (朱家角古镇), No. 555 Kezhiyuan Road, Zhujiajiao Town. A well-preserved ancient water town with over 1,700 years of history, features 36 stone bridges, nine old streets winding along canals, and hundreds of traditional Ming and Qing dynasty buildings lining the water. Its highlights include Fangsheng Bridge (Shanghai's largest five-arch stone bridge), Kezhi Garden (a grand manor-style garden), and the Qing Dynasty Post Office. Visitors can take boat rides, taste local snacks, and browse handcraft shops. 
• Remains of Ancient Song Ze Culture.
