Tahuya is located on the Kitsap Peninsula in the Puget Sound region of Washington state. The tiny town of Tahuya is located 15 miles south of Belfair on Hood Canal’s North Shore overlooking the Great Bend in the canal and almost at the “end of the road.”

- SummerTide Resort & Marina, 15781 NE Northshore Rd, ☏ . Reservations are required at this privately owned marina in Tahuya, on the north shore of Hood Canal. Daily, monthly and seasonal moorage is available with dock. SummerTide boat launch is open to the public year around. Maximum size boats that can be launched is 24 feet and that would depend on your vehicle and trailer length. Boats can be launched up to a zero tide so please check tidecharts and plan accordingly. The moorage docks are put in before May 1st and removed sometime in September. There are 22 inside moorage slips that can take up to a 20' boat. There are several outside slips that can handle much larger boats. They offer annual moorage and nightly moorage, but do not allow guest to sleep aboard their boats. Nightly moorage for non-guest is on a availability basis. Reservations are required. A single launch is $10.00 or buy an annual launch for $100..
- Hood Canal. despite its name is not a canal but it actually an inland fjord that stretches for over 70 miles inland separating the Kitsap Peninsula from the Olympic Peninsula. It is a prime destination in the area for outdoor recreation and nature viewing with sweeping views of the Olympic Mountains and lush forests. Near the southern end of the Kitsap Peninsula it hooks inward at an area known as the Great Bend.
- Tahuya State Forest (near Belfair). - is a 23,000-acre working forest located on the southeastern portion of the Hood Canal west of Belfair in Mason County. This popular year-round destination area attracts more than 200,000 recreational users each year. Tahuya offers recreation opportunities for a variety of activities, including off-road vehicle riding (ORV), horseback riding, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, camping and other uses. Tahuya is primarily a destination area for ORV riders. Each year more than 150,000 motorized recreationists and 50,000 non-motorized recreationists visit the forest.
The remote southwest corner of the Kitsap Peninsula offers many boating, fishing and hiking opportunities. This area has many small lakes, as well as access to the Hood Canal.
Hood Canal, one of only two inland fjords in the lower 48 states has depths ranging to 600 feet.
