This article was originally created as a redirect to Mount Rainier National Park. However, despite its small size (population 267), since many lodging options were being added to the Mount Rainier article that are not actually inside of the park I think it makes sense to create a separate article for the town and point to it from Mount Rainier. This approach prevents confusion about what lodging is actually IN the park, and what lies just outside. A similar approach was taking with Yosemite National Park and the tiny gateway towns like Lee Vining, El Portal, etc. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 15:36, 19 April 2008 (EDT)
