This article is becoming great! And in particular I bow down before your careful observance of Manual of Style conventions. I see only two things missing before this could be a Destination of the Month: some pictures, and adding in kanji and macrons for Japanese attraction names. Thanks for the kind words. I've now added a few photos for Ashikaga, Kiryu (the best documented city in Gunma!), and Mashiko, trying not to overload people's bandwidths.
