Is this is really the best name for this article? Our naming conventions encourage using the most common English name for a place, and I hope that people have a more convenient way of referring to this region. - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 22:14, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

ARMM appears to be the most common English name for the region, as far as I can tell. It is the official term used by the Philippines government for the region, and "armm+philippines" brings up 165,000 hits in Google. (WT-en) Texugo 22:29, 6 August 2006 (EDT)

Regional warningbox[edit]

The warningbox on this page, which is duplicated in most sub-pages, is mostly dedicated to describing the formal end of a long-running conflict. Either it needs to be removed if the threat is downgraded, or significantly updated to reflect the current state on the ground and new threats if it's still dangerous; fairly recent travel warnings are still being issued from various sources (the UK Foreign Office, US Department of State, etc.) so it seems that there are still significant hazards. I don't know the situation well enough to edit it usefully, anyone else feeling more confident? -- D. Guillaume (talk) 18:29, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
