Talk:Bavarian Swabia

Per WV naming convention policy, this renaming not appropriate. Please either rename it to Swabia (Bavaria) or Swabia (region). --Saqib (talk) 19:04, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

It was moved from Swabia (region) to Swabia (administrative region of Bavaria) to avoid persistent and frequent confusion with the cultural region of "Schwaben" which is some 4 times larger in area and much of which lies in Baden-Württemberg rather than Bayern. I do agree that Bavarian Swabia might be a less ugly and no more confusing choice if you want to pick a better name... --W. Frank^email_talk 19:29, 6 September 2013 (UTC)

No, I don't like brackets. If you re-name it to Bavarian Swabia there is much less lilelihood of future confusion creeping in again from Germans whose English is less fluent than mine. With a name of Bavarian Swabia they will understand that this article is just a part of Großschwaben. --W. Frank^email_talk 19:41, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
