What we need[edit]

I'm going to try and get this article up to usable status. It's crazy that there are 5 national parks in Utah, and article-wise there is 1 star, 2 guides, 1 usable, and then poor Cap Reef, a lowly outline.

I know a lot about the park, but here's the stuff I won't be able to provide any firsthand info about: Backpacking (overnight hikes), Rock climbing info (legality, routes, etc.), nearby lodging (I tent camp), and Cedar Mesa campground (where I've never stayed). Anybody know anything about these things? -- (WT-en) Merbert 15:55, 22 May 2008 (EDT)

Upgrade to Usable?[edit]

I'm not sure if anyone is watching this page but I think the guide qualifies as usable. I'm a little new and don't know the exact procedures. Can I upgrade it myself? Does anyone have any thoughts? (WT-en) McMurphy 14:45, 30 August 2010 (EDT)

Go ahead and update the status - thanks for your additions! -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 02:10, 31 August 2010 (EDT)
It's nice to see this article develop! I bumped it up to usable status, and added a bit re: Burr Trail Rd. It would be nice to add some information on exploring the backcountry—I didn't get a chance to hike any of the long trails [1], so I'm not sure to which we should give priority. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 19:07, 31 August 2010 (EDT)
I noticed that the national parks in Utah now have one star, three guides, and now one usable. Let's get this bad boy up to guide!! Also, would it be OK to scan the official map given at the visitor center and put it in, ala Bryce Canyon National Park? I guess Arches National Park needs one, too. Content from nps.gov is licensed in the public domain, and thus free to use here, unless otherwise stated on the NPS site - that's where the Bryce map came from. That said, Wikivoyage maps are generally preferred over maps from other sites, and freely-licensed maps from other sites would generally be preferred to scans due to quality issues. -- (WT-en) Ryan • (talk) • 16:32, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
I'm working on converting the NPS CRNP map to WT style. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 16:09, 2 September 2010 (EDT)
And it's now in the article. It's not fully converted to WT style, and thus is a good ways off from being a "star quality" map, but it should be serviceable until someone with a bit more time can spruce it up! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 18:30, 4 September 2010 (EDT)
