Please, before making any substantial changes to this article, let me know what is going on. I want to make sure they all make sense and are holistic. For example, moving the information on Talin to a separate Talin page makes absolutely no sense, as Talin is a 20-30 minute stop, with nowhere to stay and nothing to eat, etc. It is a tiny, poor town with a big monument to look at and photograph, but few visitors, the vast majority of whom are gone in under 30 minutes. Garni and Geghard are NOT IN Yerevan, they are an hour away, and worlds apart. They may be better off on a separate page, but that should be discussed and I don't see why a couple of sentence summary here is so harmful at this point. An Ashtarak page can make sense, however, but again I would like to see the changes discussed first if possible. Thanks, (WT-en) Raffikojian 12:42, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Sorting out Armenia's attractions into the standard Wikivoyage format is difficult, since the main attractions are not located in cities/towns, and because they are usually visited as day trips from larger cities like Yerevan, Stepanakert, etc. I'd be tempted to put a lot of the content in the region articles, as Raffikojian has done, even though it is standard Wikivoyage practice to place most information in city articles. Although perhaps some information could be moved out to key towns. For example, perhaps it would make sense to have a Garni article for the town, and list the temple there? Garni has a couple big attractions, although I don't know whether there are restaurants or places to sleep. If there are none, then it does not make sense to give the town a separate article. FWIW, I visited both Garni temple and Geghard Monastery on a full day excursion from Yerevan, and I assume that's how most travelers visit the two attractions. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 15:24, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
Hi Peter. Yes, I am in complete agreement. I've never heard of anyone spending the night in Garni. Ever. Or even in Echmiadzin, though it is (unlike most of these other attractions) actually in a city. I don't mind trying to work with the standard format as much as possible, and as much as is sensible. We can certainly try to keep the information on Echmiadzin brief in the Central Armenia article, and expand a great deal upon it in a separate article, but let's not fool ourselves... nobody is going to stay the night there! :-) Same with Ashtarak - the only other nice city in the region. The only serious overnight destination in Central Armenia at this time outside of Yerevan is Tsaghkadzor, which is under do at the moment. Any tips on this whole thing are appreciated!
