Probably not a hilarious mistake[edit]

I rolled back a change from "foul" to "fowl" (labeled a "hilarious mistake"), since I think it was wrong. There is a Middle Eastern dish called foul; it's a stew made from big red beans, and it is delicious. If I've done so in error, and it's more common to eat fowl than foul in Damascus, please correct. I'm going to replace with an italicized version since I think foul should match our rules for foreign words. --(WT-en) Evan 13:44, 30 January 2007 (EST)

Arabic Language Services[edit]

I've edited out some material from foreign language schools - wikivoyage isn't a medium for service providers to advertise their wares - rather for objective material relating to those services. If anyone has any info having used these services, feel free to contribute. (WT-en) Holgs 06:41, 27 February 2008 (EST)

I think it is useful to have the list of various opportunities to learn Arabic, which is quite a popular thing for foreigners in Damascus. Agree with the above on the no-touting policy, so in my view the current version is better than previous. The Mezze Institute for Foreigners doesn't have any contact info or website - can someone provide? --(WT-en) Andrewsyria 07:49, 17 July 2008 (EDT)

Hotel or Restaurant Addresses[edit]

Before I delete some of these restaurants and/or hotels, does anyone have the specific addresses or contact information for these places?

Hotel images..[edit]

The current article has three hotel images, and we discourage hotel images unless they are attractions in their own right. See Project:Accommodation listings. Can anyone verify if the images of the hotels here are notable in their own right in the city? --(WT-en) inas 02:40, 10 June 2009 (EDT)
