Deleted "Internet" section[edit]

I deleted the "Internet" section, because it turned into a list of websites and encouraged spammers to place their links there. (WT-en) Sapphire 07:19, 21 April 2006 (EDT)

Welcome to the Wikivoyage Spam Magnet and Link Farm[edit]

Oh, look! Someone's added a new link to an internet booking service. That sure is nice, because we only have a few dozen of those so far. Sapphire tried deleting this stuff and was spanked, with the explanation that allowing this was agreed to "long ago". Well it's no longer "long ago", and we now have a policy eliminating "External links" sections... so how about we apply that to this this page, which seems to be acting as one page-long "External links" section? - (WT-en) Todd VerBeek 09:10, 13 July 2006 (EDT)

Agreed. Yeesh. I'd even support a vfd. -- (WT-en) Jonboy 08:17, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
And about two minutes after you wrote that yet another spammer comes in. Kill kill kill. (WT-en) Jpatokal 09:09, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
Yep, its a pointless page, because anyone who wants these pages could easily find them through any search engine. delete the internet bit section, or vfd the whole lot? (WT-en) Tim 09:13, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
I plunged forward and killed the extlinks. Let he who disagrees revert it and talk to us here. -- (WT-en) Colin 18:41, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
Does this mean I was pardoned? I sure do hope so. Who provides pardons around? -- (WT-en) Andrew Haggard (Sapphire) 18:45, 2 August 2006 (EDT)
