Regions and Cities[edit]
The whole of Gloucestershire is in the region of South West England. (See South West England.) English regions are bigger than English counties.
Neither Evesham nor Stroud is a city. (See List of cities in the United Kingdom.)

- We use "city" for "urban area"-- towns, communities, villages, hamlets, whatever. There would be an unnecessary overexactness in having separate sections ("Cities", "Towns", "Villages") for each size and type of city. You can put a simple description after the listing if you want to show that an entry isn't really a city-city. I'll do that for Evesham and Stroud. --(WT-en) Evan 12:24, 24 Jun 2005 (EDT)
- Also: we use Regions as a name for any sub-national area that can contain one or more urban areas ("cities"). It sounds like "regions" have a formal meaning in England, in which case we should probably avoid using them for sub-county areas.
