"Guildford is a large town with all the amenities of a City. " No, Guildford is a city as it has a Cathedral. —The preceding comment was added by (WT-en) 86.16.51.186 (talkcontribs)

Guildford isn't a city, it's a "cathedral town" or a borough because an official city-status hasn't been conferred on it by the Queen.
