Talk:Hitchhiking phrasebook
Add topicThere's a hitchhiking phrasebook floating on the web, but it's not clearly free. It's also not wiki. So, I just started one here :)
Don't really know what format is the best though. (WT-en) Guaka 09:59, 29 Sep 2005 (EDT)
Since this will not only be used by native English speakers, and since the normal way of explaining the pronunciation on the English Wikivoyage is butt ugly I propose to use phonetic transcription... (WT-en) Guaka 09:26, 3 Oct 2005 (EDT)
- That "butt ugly" stuff is phonetic transcription. What exactly are you proposing as an alternative? (WT-en) Jpatokal 12:30, 28 Dec 2005 (EST)
I was also confused what to do with diacritical signs. I used ch for a sound like in children, sh for a sound like in ship, and zh for a sound like in measure. BTW, I dont know czech but I can understand a little since its a similar language - the translation of the 3. is a bit liberal, its something like Great, can I drive with you? :) aryah 83.131.132.218 13:47, 22 March 2006 (EST)
