[edit]In case somebody ever wonders, yes, the legend box is identical to — for the very good reason that I wrote both. (WT-en) Jpatokal 00:49, 20 Oct 2004 (EDT)
Highly biased on the References to the Iron Penis Festival... I was born in Kawasaki and living here for over 30 yrs, but I didn't know that event until today. (WT-en) pieton300kmh 10:31, 21 Mar 2005 (JST)
- Yes, it's much better known in Tokyo's foreign community than among the Japanese themselves. But why is the article "biased"? (WT-en) Jpatokal 21:38, 20 Mar 2005 (EST)
I just altered the directions to Wakamiya Hachimangu. Hopefully these ones work a little bit better. The last set ("Walk along the curving road for a block or two") got me lost twice, and I eventually just asked at the Koban. The road doesn't curve, and the shrine is a stone's throw from the station. Cheers!
Oddball Eateries
[edit]Not notable enough for the main page, so really, really needs someone to go down and investigate in person, but I seem to recall reading or wacthing something on NHK about a migrant quarter just off the ol' Keihin-Tohoku train line on the east side facing the docks around this area with a tonne of notably different eateries in a few city blocks. Can't even recall what migrants they were but it was all one country. South Korea? Somewhere in SE Asia? Never got to check this out myself as I heard it shortly before moving out of the area (and country). There's not many stops on the K-T line so someone bored can always go and check them out to see, might discover a hidden culinary gem.(WT-en) Snave 04:28, 19 February 2011 (EST)
Kawasaki Nikko Hotel
[edit]from main page
(I haven't been to the hotel, but reviews in several web sites indicate it is a just regular business hotel, apparently not too special to be called a "splurge". I also got a reservation there for ¥11000, for two people (double), which they said was a special rate. Can someone who's been there clarify this?)
- "Splurge" just means it's expensive and in my book, anything above ¥10k/person in Japan is a splurge. 11k for two is comparatively cheap, but we usually rank by regular rates... (WT-en) Jpatokal 07:57, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
