Some remarks and alternative road from Pai to Chiang Mai

[edit]

From Mae Hong Son the road number is not 1265, but 1095. After Pai this road continues to a spot 5 km south of Mae Taeng where it joins road 107 where you go to Chiang Mai via Mae Rim.

If you take Pai busstation as a reference, it is 13 km to the spot on road 1095 where the real road 1265 is a right turn. Following this road you will arrive at Ban Chan/Wat Chan where road 1349 takes over to Samoeng. From there you go for a short distance on road 1269 until it joins road 1096 through the Mae Sa Valey with snake farm, orchid farm, waterfalls elephant camp, etc, until you reach Mae Rim where road 1096 joins road 107 to Chiang Mai.

Good catch, Fred! Please check the article and see if I corrected it properly. Seligne (talk) 12:26, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the corrections are OK. Would the alternative from Pai that I mentioned in my remarks be worth mentioning? At the moment I drove part of it, the road conditions were not very good, but the scenery was quite beautifull. --FredTC (talk) 16:42, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I am debating that one. I am teaching in Samoeng right now. The locals have warned me off that route as it is bad as you say. I don't know, people already have a fixed idea of what the MHS Loop is. Seligne (talk) 23:05, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
