It seems like the most common spelling for the town is Mekelle (with a double ll). If people agree, maybe we can change the name to this spelling with a link from this page. (119.2.104.63)
- It is difficult to decide because the name and spelling differs in Amharic (official language in Ethiopia) and Tigrinya. Now, most Wikipedias use the Amharic one which is mostly used in maps, too.
- Maybe we should wait at least in a time of the current Tigray conflict. --RolandUnger (talk) 17:41, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
