Talk:Mount Desert Island

Hiking on Mount Desert Island shouldn't be a separate article, neither is Kayaking. It is part of Mount Desert Island! I have merging it under the Mount Desert Island#Do section in a sub-section called Hike. We do not generally write separate Travel topics articles about hiking at a destination level. We may write them at a country level, to point to all the destinations where hiking can be done, especially if there are special things to say that doesn't fit into the main country article too well, but not at a destination level, where all the relevant information should be in one article. Not really a breach, just a guideline to stay inside. If Mount Desert Island got so full and large that a separate article on Hiking on Mount Desert Island was warranted because of the total article size then it would be worth considering. But that would need the Mount Desert Island article to be completed first. And I think a lot of work needs doing here first. -- (WT-en) Huttite 20:14, 15 Jan 2006 (EST)
