I am trying to get this done properly, but it keeps getting deleted. The actual name of the region is River Valley, but someone has claimed that name already in reference to the Kennebec and Moose River Valleys. Pennacook Valley is a name that many in the area don't approve of as it refers to the original name of one of the towns. I would prefer to have the guy mis-using the River Valley designation change to the proper designation and let us use the River Valley designation as we have been in the real world for a while.

The region consists of 11 towns, one of which is in Franklin County, the remainder of which are in Oxford County, but do not encompass the whole county. I don't know where you looked on Wikipedia. In Maine each county consists of a variety of regions. I live in the River Valley Region. The greater Norway area is the Oxford Hills Region. I believe it consists of towns in three counties. While these are not political sub-divisions, they are economic regions. We also have school districts which are being forced to merge under order of the state government. Some if these super-school districts will cover portions of multiple counties as well. Just because we don't do things the way others do, doesn't make us wrong, just different. By the way, we have one village that is in not only two separate towns, but two separate counties (East Dixfield, Maine). If you cannot put food and drink establishments on regional pages, why is there a place for them?? For that matter, why even have some other categories? It seems foolish to have categories that cannot be used. 130.111.8.110 20:34, 29 January 2008 (EST)
