Hijacking issues[edit]

There seems to be an ongoing campaign to hijack the Rinjani Trekking Club name and goodwill. Please see hijacking notes on the Rinjani page in this regard. The Rinjani Trekking Club Lodge listing has been removed as it appears to mislead the reader.

  • It gives the impression accomodation is being offered in a 'Lodge' run by the established Rinjani Trekking Club whose details may be found at < http://www.info2lombok.com/>. The details of the 'alternative' Rinjani Trekking Club are found at <http://www.rinjanitrekkingclub.com> They also make mention of Segara Anak Lodges and "Since Mt. Rinjani became a major tourist destination in Lombok, Rinjani Trekking Club grew bigger and now based in Segara Anak Travel Lodge of Senaru under Mr. Harry Al-Kayi as Trekking Organizer." See also <http://rtcsenaru.indonetwork.co.id/profile/rinjani-trekking-club-senaru.htm> It appears the Eco-lodge accommodation being offered is actually situated at Meninting just north of the airport at Ampenan and somewhat distant to both Senaru and Rinjani. This may mislead the reader into believing they are being offered eco-lodge accommodation at Mt. Rinjani.
  • The removed listing directed to a website that simply resells other accom providers (Pondok Indah Hotel and Pondok Senaru) rather than actually providing a "lodge" as described. The website also makes other misleading statements such as "We are the only Rinjani Trekking club in Senaru-Lombok. It's established in 1989 with 10 member (Porter and Trekking Guide) and now with member over 100 Porter and Trekking Guide. If there other website who advertise for Rinjani, Most of them are going through us for an arrangements."

For these reasons above and in the interests of both clarity and accuracy this conflicting and confusing listing has now been removed.
