I am looking for the english name or any information about a fruit that i only remember being referred to as "nagathenga" or "oothenga" in shillong. anybody know anything? is there a link i can look at? i have been googling like crazy but nothing turned up. this fruit has impressed me so much (last visit to shillong in 1993, about 15 years ago) that i think it should be mentioned in this article. thanks.

While the jalebis here are undoubtedly good, i feel it would be remiss if their inconsistent hygiene track record isn't mentioned. Many people would feel that they should know whether finding cockroaches in their food is a possibility or not.
