Be very careful about picking a horse. We were assigned an unexperienced young horse during our trip to ice mountain. And because of that, my husband fall down the horse back and has a big horse step on his chest. It's very close to the heart and spleen. The guide assigned to us does not even care for his injure at all, and ignored our request to change horse from the beginning. After the fall, we managed work to the camping place, and with great pain, stay there for a whole night. There's no doctor or medicine or anything alike. The next morning, we insisted change the horse, borrowed a horse from another guide, went back to Songpan and ended our trip abruptly. My husband is very luck to not having any big problem except soft tissue injuries which keep him in pain for about a month now. And we also broke the camera during the fall. My advice, if you definitely want to go there, avoid rush time like May 1-7 and Oct 1-7, choose your horse carefully!! And remember to bring enough medicine. There is no cell signal on the mountain. According to my observation, ankle injuries are common, make sure you wear comfortable shoes, and prepare to throw them away afterwards. jooey from Shanghai
