I think Thousand Islands (Indonesia) would be a better name for this...? (WT-en) Jpatokal 05:08, 23 September 2009 (EDT)

Could be. I always call it Pulau Seribu and that seems the commonest name amongst Indonesians as well. I went for the formal full name as that is what we do with other national parks in Java..... But Thousand Islands would be more familiar to visitors I guess. It would need a disambiguation page. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 05:13, 23 September 2009 (EDT)
Just a redirect would suffice. (WT-en) Texugo 05:19, 23 September 2009 (EDT)
there is also Thousand Islands in the US.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 07:29, 23 September 2009 (EDT)
Thousand Islands is a catchy name, think of Thousand Islands salad dressing. Foreign visitors would definitely be more familiar with Thousand Islands instead of Pulau Seribu or the official name Kepulauan Seribu. Thus sort of self advertising.
Thousand Islands as a salad dressing belongs to northern New York State, along with the Boldt Castle and the rest of the US-Canadian border landmarks. There is a small community named Thousand Islands Park on Wellesley Island, New York at the top of Interstate 81 (on one of two islands in the middle of the Thousand Islands Bridge). Oddly, a "rivière des mille îles" also exists near Montréal, some 200km distant. K7L (talk) 14:45, 16 October 2012 (CEST)
